Connor Bernhard announces New LP, Altitude, available May 15th from BACE Records — Shares First Single, "Waking Up", available Friday April 17th

The first single, “WAKING UP”, from Connor Bernhard’s forthcoming LP, Altitude, releases this Friday, April 17th, on Bandcamp. Full CD and Digital Album available from BACE Records on May 15th.

Connor Bernhard’s debut single, “Waking Up”, was conceived on an early morning cab ride to catch a flight to Miami from Chicago’s O'Hare Airport. The driving 7/4 ostinato came to him seemingly out of nowhere in a dream-like haze. To keep the melody alive, he sung it to himself through the rest of the ride all the way the security check at the airport. When he finally got through to his gate to sit down, he immediately pulled out his computer and began notating the inspired rhythm-section melody. 

Bernhard states, "The composition builds with an immense amount of tension and is representative of the resistance I feel every time I wake up from a normal night’s sleep or even a nap. Living with depression commonly makes one want to hold on to the relaxed times that don’t involve the brain thinking incessantly. Once I eventually overcome that issue in my head, I am greeted with the prospects of a new day of life, music, and love shown in the latter half of the song."
